The 12 Hour Relay Disaster

The look on Mr Scholes face spelled T for trouble. I heard this shouting behind me, I turned around and at least 5 men were running around the field. They were all in black and carrying big guns with them. The lock down drill rang through the speakers and everyone dashed for the nearest classroom. All accept one. I couldn't make out who it was from the classroom corner where I was hiding. As this person came sprinting over the finish line and kept running to a classroom before they all locked up. Everyone was puzzled about this person, their were rumors that the person was from Rimu and he that last lap just made Rimu win the 12 Hour Relay. The police turned up and their was a big shoot out. Luckily no one was hurt and the men to jail.

Drug Presentation

This term we have been having our Life Education sessions. One of the topics we are learning about is drugs. Everyone in our class has made a presentation about one individual drug so that we can extend our knowledge. I made my presentation to a class member and they have given me feedback about my presentation below.
Success Criteria
- confidence when they deliver their presentation
- their knowledge is genuine
- information is in their own words
- no reading off the page, not too much text
- images match content
- visually appealing
- not too long or short

Dear Mr Diver

Dear Mr Diver,

It is my last year here at Tauranga Intermediate School, and I would like to suggest somethings to change about the school.

Firstly the girls school T-shirts, it is quite annoying having white T-shirts. You have to take extra care with them because they get really dirty being white.

Lastly the assembly. It is too long.  I recommend that you shorten it, some kids in the school get restless and can't do it.

I hope you take these points into consideration,

Yours sincerely,

Jessica Marshall

Life Ed

In third block last Friday my class went to Life Ed. The man who ran Life Ed name was Mike. We watched a movie about some people that did drugs when they were 13-15, and said that it was a big mistake. Life Ed's moto is Delay The Decision. Mike says to delay the decision until you are at the top of the ladder or above. The ladder has 7 steps on the ladder. Each step represents 7 years of puberty. So it is best to delay the decision of using drug or taking alcohol till you have finished puberty.

Advice

Dear Aunty Paris,
I found out my two friends smoke. I am only 13. I don't know what to do. I am really confused. Please help

Dear Anonymous,

I was not very surprised when I found out that your 13 year old friend were smoking. A lot of kids these age get a bit confused because of somethings that might be happening in their life or at home. I do suggest going to your teacher about this. He/she might be able to find a councilor that could talk to the to girls and help them. Also what might help is you talking to them yourself, you being their best friend they might take what you are saying seriously. Other people that can help are their parents. You need to find out if their parents know. Get them to call this number for advice is 8428787. This is what ups.

I hope everything goes well,
